What we need RIGHT NOW.

Are you a coach (health, mindset or of any kind), a mediation teacher, a healer, a lightworker, an alternative practitioner, a yoga/qi gong or any mindful movement teacher or any of the professions dedicated to the service of people living more fulfilling, healthy, meaningful lives?

THANK YOU.

You prioritize your health, your mind and spirit. Even if you’re scared right now, you’ve done healing work and continue to do the work. You have the tools; you’re practicing. You’ve seen your light and your darkness. You’re familiar with your shadows that are more present than ever. You’ve experienced periods of setbacks and growth and hopefully shifts and deep healing. I sincerely THANK YOU for your DEDICATION.

You already meditate, you have self-care practices and you’re doing them right now. YOU are prepared for this time.

You are supporting your audience, and in these times, you are growing your audience. Thank you for your passion and dedication.

But there are people who are still several steps away from acknowledging the wisdom you have to share.

The majority is NOT prepared. It takes only a trip to the grocery store to see that anxiety and panic is rampant. Some may be open to your ideas and optimism that a change is needed and that it is coming.

That this is an opportunity to make radical changes in the way we run society.

That the chaos outside is because the illusion of individualism is crumbling.

That we’re learning how we’re all interconnected.

That we’re connecting with friends and family more regularly.

That we all needed more rest.

That the PLANET needed a rest and that we’re finally seeing pollution subside.

That Bejing’s skies and Venice’s canals are clear for the first time in decades!

I too see the possibilities for change and I am inspired by the heart centered leadership I am seeing rise and shine in our communities. THANK YOU!

HOWEVER. Not everyone in the public is ready for this message. Many find that you are HOPEFUL and OPTIMISTIC is CONFUSING and possibly CONFRONTING.

Everyone is being forced to confront their shadows right now and it’s not easy. I say this because I was at the grocery store early this morning and I was reminded that the guy behind the counter who has anxiety, “it has the same symptoms as the virus!!” just wants to be home with his family. He doesn't want to hear your advice on breathwork or yoga.

What is needed right now is COMPASSION. Compassion for:

-yourself: it is highly likely you are also going through waves of fear and concern

-those losing their livelihoods,

-those who are ill or who have sick or elderly family members, or preexisting conditions

-those stuck in family/spousal situations they had planned to get out of “someday” and are now quarantined or sheltering in place with those people.

-the healthcare workers who are on the “front lines” and who may have been putting of that self-care, that vacation, that balanced lifestyle for later

-for our families and loved ones! Many of us who have done the healing work are also the black sheep of the family. We’ve been practicing social distancing for a while! Even our spouses may not understand our optimism.

We do need to be able to stay grounded, calm and courageous. We do need to share that love and wisdom. We also need to be DISCERNING as to HOW and WHEN we share that love and peace OUT LOUD, and when to share that love and peace QUIETLY, through our heart space.

I’m practicing this right now, more than ever. I’m not always going to get it right, but I’m going to be compassionate with myself and keep practicing.
